Exercise is key. Whether you want to lose a few pounds, a couple of stones or even half your body weight, it can be done. I have helped clients achieve all of these things. Your goal is achievable as long as you are committed and willing to stick to a strict diet and exercise regime. And a little help from me, of course!

But I can only help so much. If you go out drinking every night, don’t eat correctly or don’t exercise, the simple fact is that you are not going to lose weight.

Dieting alone may help you lose some weight – but you’ll also lose your shape! And if the weight comes off too quickly, it will come back on just as quickly. The fat cells in your body have a good memory! My approach includes dieting but only to a certain extent. My principle strategy involves lots of exercise and a programme designed specifically to meet your own individual needs. This way you’ll lose weight and, crucially, keep it off.
THERE ARE A NUMBER OF DIFFERENT APPROACHES FOR ACHIEVING THIS:

  • Multiple compound exercises, which use as many different parts of the body to help burn calories as rapidly as possible. Using all of the body’s carbohydrate fuel in this way will help bring your weight down. Cardio-vascular training isn’t everything though. This fat burning zone can also be achieved through resistance training.

  • Resistance training is still very intense, sometimes more so than cardio-vascular training, so you’ll be using more energy in addition to building stamina and strength in your muscles and joints. Furthermore, every additional millimetre of muscle you build burns an extra 50 calories a day so your metabolism will be working at its peak.

  • Finally, my favourite approach is boxing training which is fantastic for variety and fun. Instead of sitting on a bike for what seems like ages, you can go three rounds of high intensity boxing training, burn more calories, and learn and enjoy the experience more.
